By invitation of Prof Lung Ying-tai, How Man gave a major keynote 2-hour lecture in Taipei attended by over 500 people. The new Prime Minister Chao-shiuan Liu was among the audience. Wong also gave lectures for the Royal Geographical Society in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Boys Scouts and to the Yan Chai Secondary School in Tuen Mun.

During a European visit in April, Wong visited the Basel Watch Fair in Switzerland as guest of Omega, one of CERS important supporting partners. He also paid visit to Father Savioz at the Grand Saint Bernard Mission and acquired an old film from the late 1940s. In Germany, Wong visited the Munich Museum and acquired a rare collection of aerial photos taken by Lufthansa pilot Wulf Dieter Graf zu Castell in China during the early 1930s.

Moon Chin, a former CNAC pilot now at 95 years of age, allowed CERS to be custodian of his early pictures taken in China during the 1930s and 1940s. Many of his valuable negatives require restoration in order to be printed.

While visiting Father Savioz (89) at the Grand Saint Bernard Mission in Switzerland, CERS acquired copy of a very rare and valuable film taken by a missionary priest in 1948 at the borderland with Tibet.
